02 The Revelation of Jesus Christ

Summary

In the first chapter of Revelation we find Jesus revealed in a way we have never seen Him before. He is dressed as a priest ministering in the Old Testament Sanctuary. This opening vision of Jesus Christ sets the basis for what will come in the rest of the book. It also demonstrates how important a serious reader of this book must take the Old Testament Sanctuary imagery which is used at the commencement of each vision.

In chapter one Jesus reveals Himself as the one who was dead but is now alive and who has the keys of death and hell. Jesus made many important claims. This session examines these claims and the evidence we find from history to support those claims. Was Jesus Christ a real person in history and did He really rise from the dead?
